Each year we gear up for two lively and fun events.
The first one is our stint at IKEA Warrington when we go along one afternoon per week during the summer holiday to provide textile crafting sessions for the visiting families. Everyone involved has a good time.
IKEA gave us this opportunity in 2015 and it really was a “suck and see”. Year on year it’s grown so we were invited to attend the other school holidays throughout the year. It's a fantastic opportunity for our group.
Newton Town Show has been our other regular annual outing. We’ve been going there since 2013 raising awareness of our group’s activities and, most important, raising funds. We love the atmosphere and seeing our fellow stall holders and annual friends. Last year we raffled a couple of tepees together with the “annual” quilt made by our members but this year we decided we’d just sell tepees due to their popularity.
COVID-19 put paid to all this. To be fair we couldn't have made scrubs and tepees. We mustn’t grumble as there’s always next year!
