We're all about supporting our local community, by providing a place to share our passion and skills.
Its a great friendly place to make new friends and look out for each other's wellbeing and prevent people in our community from feeling isolated too.
Whilst provided a place for our skilled sewing members and volunteers to work on thier own projects at thier own pace.
We encourage our members to join in with our fundraising projects when they can, whether it’s making raffle prizes, volunteering at IKEA, attending events and fetes.
On the last week of every month we try and get everyone involved in a one-off project, which could be like setting in a sleeve, making a bowling bag or simply making a bound buttonhole.
We have a treasure trove of many things in our sewing unit and every sewing notion you could think of from patterns to books, elastic, leather etc. (we’ve got lots and lots of stock!)
We are always happy to listen to people's new ideas for classes or sewing projects to enhace and develop the project further.
All the money that is raised from selling items made at Burtonwood Sewing Group goes right back into the project too.
We wouldn’t have half the members we have, if we hadn’t been out and about selling our wares!
Why not pop in sometime and come and have a brew?
